Our Past
In 2004 and 2006, 600 volunteers covered almost 80 of the beautiful Greek islands with the gospel. Operation Gideon 1 & 2 were organized by Hellenic Ministries to attempt to reach all of the major Greek islands during those two summers. Today, we have a dream...
Our Challenge
In faith, Joshua commanded the Israelite people to march forward because the Lord had promised that He would deliver Jericho and the land into their hands (Joshua 6:2,7). With Operation Joshua, we aim to systematically cover all the mainland of Greece with the light of the gospel - by prayer, proclamation and the distribution of God's Word.
Our Goal
Operation Joshua hopes to distribute a New Testament to every home in mainland Greece within five years. It's our desire that the Word of God, in modern Greek, be available in every home and for every Greek. We seek to carry out this massive undertaking in partnership with existing evangelical churches. We embarked upon this new venture in the summer of 2008, beginning with the fire-stricken county of Elia, in southern Greece.

We trust our God that the costs of all Bibles, literature, transportation and food will be provided through donations from individuals and churches. May the name of the Lord be praised for the faith of His people!
Quotes
“A local believer and his family were staying at the same campsite as we were. The man had stayed there on numerous occasions and was surprised to see the camp owner's wife reading a New Testament at the front reception desk. He asked if this was a common practice of hers, knowing that she had grown up in the Orthodox Church. She told him that this was the first time she had ever opened and read the Bible! (One of our staff had given her a literature pack with the New Testament earlier that day.) He excitedly encouraged her to keep on reading, and he told her how this book, God's Word, had changed his life. Praise the Lord for that ordained appointment!” - an OJ 2008 participant
